FAQs

Before your first appointment, we’ll have already spoken during your complimentary 30-minute telephone consultation, where we’ll discuss what you’d like to achieve and how hypnotherapy may be able to help.

Your first session lasts up to 1.5 hours, allowing plenty of time for us to get to know one another and explore your goals in more detail.

You’ll be invited to relax in a comfortable reclining chair, cocooned in a cosy blanket, creating a calm, safe and nurturing environment where you can simply unwind.

I’ll ask you to complete a confidential client questionnaire, helping me to gain a deeper understanding of your goals, challenges, thoughts, feelings and patterns of behaviour. This enables me to tailor every session to your individual needs.

Once you’re feeling comfortable and relaxed, I’ll gently guide you into a deeply relaxed hypnotic state, similar to a guided meditation. Using a combination of hypnotherapy, hypnotic suggestion and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques, we’ll work together to explore the underlying causes of the issue and encourage new, positive patterns of thinking and behaviour.

Following your session, you’ll receive a personalised hypnosis recording to listen to at home, ideally each day or before going to sleep. Listening regularly helps to reinforce the positive work we’ve done together and supports lasting change between sessions.

No. Hypnosis is a completely natural state of focused relaxation. Throughout your session you’ll remain aware of what’s happening, in control at all times and able to communicate with me whenever you wish.

The number of sessions varies from person to person and depends on the issue you’d like to address. During your consultation and first session, we’ll discuss your goals and agree on a treatment plan that’s tailored specifically to you.

Yes. Everything discussed during your consultation and sessions is treated with the strictest confidence, in accordance with professional and ethical standards.

This is one of the questions I’m asked most frequently.

For me personally, hypnotherapy was life changing, which is why I chose to train as a hypnotherapist and now have the privilege of helping others on their own journey.

Many people come to hypnotherapy after trying other approaches, while others choose it as their first step. Every person’s experience is unique, and the outcome depends on many factors, including the nature of the issue, your commitment to the process and the therapeutic relationship we build together.

While no therapy can guarantee results, hypnotherapy has helped many people create positive, meaningful and lasting change. By working together in a safe, supportive and collaborative way, we give you the very best opportunity to achieve the goals that matter most to you.

Yes. Hypnotherapy is generally considered to be a safe and natural therapeutic approach when practised by a suitably qualified and professionally registered hypnotherapist.

Choosing the right therapist is important. I recommend ensuring that your hypnotherapist is professionally trained and registered with a recognised professional body, such as the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR).

It’s equally important that you feel comfortable, relaxed and able to build a trusting relationship with your therapist. Feeling safe and supported creates the best environment for positive and lasting change.

Yes. I hold full public liability insurance, giving you added peace of mind when attending your sessions.

If you would like to see a copy of my insurance certificate, I’m happy to provide this upon request.

Absolutely.

Hypnotherapy isn’t only for overcoming specific challenges. Many people choose to have sessions simply to relax, unwind and take time out from the demands of everyday life. Just as we look after our physical wellbeing, it’s equally important to care for our mental and emotional wellbeing.

I often describe hypnotherapy as a spa for the mind, giving your mind the opportunity to slow down, switch off and experience a deep sense of calm and relaxation.

Every journey begins with a single step. Sometimes that first step is simply reaching out. I’d love to support you.
